Google Witnesses Escalation in Web Search on Mobile Phones Google acknowledges a sharp rise in Internet access on mobile phones since it has launched solutions for BlackBerry and Nokia devices that improve the net speed. According to Google, the mobile phone users are excessively using Internet on their phones since Google has launched faster Web services on selected models of phones which, in turn, is boosting growth in use of mobile Internet, as reported by Reuters on March 19, 2008. Google, the top Web mining company of the world, said that evidence has confirmed that Internet access on mobile phones has tremendously gone up and now it is not confined to computers only. This trend of Internet access on mobile phones has emerged after Google launched BlackBerry e-mail phones, Apple iPhone, and Nokia devices for video creators and multimedia picture. Matt Waddell, Product Manager, Google Mobile, said that the company has marked a change in the usage of mobile Internet and it is growing at a rapid pace, as reported by pcpro.co on March 19, 2008. Waddell further said that the affordable data plans coupled with advanced web browsing techniques on cell phone and better designed solutions from renowned companies like Google are boosting growth. Google made the announcement when it came with new software for mobile phones operating on Windows Mobile software of Microsoft Corp. Earlier, these phones opened Google web search page as someone logged in for Internet access. Google also released similar versions of software for BlackBerry users in December and for Nokia mobile users in February this year that enhanced the speed of web search process by 40% and consequently driven the usage. Google also said that the software shorten the time of web search on Google by removing some unessential initial steps of searching web browser on the phone. Previously, users had to follow prolonged process, opening the browser, searching network and finally reaching to Google.com. Google has made Google search box fit for mobile phone users to encourage people to use Internet service on their phones. According to pcpro.co.uk, Waddell further said that there is 20% upsurge in Internet access on mobile phones by people. Additionally, Waddell said that it's not just customer satisfaction that has been noticed but also increased usage, as reported by Reuters on March 19, 2008. |
