HandStep launches TeamCalendar 2.0 with support for Microsoft Exchange 2007
Mobile software specialist HandStep today announced that its internationally recognized TeamCalendar application, which enables users of Windows Mobile devices to view colleagues' calendars and plan meetings, supports Microsoft Exchange 2007.
TeamCalendar makes diary planning and coordination in real time and on the go possible, and puts an end to the frustration associated with finding a free time slot in everyone’s calendar. The innovative and unique SmartPlanning function compares colleagues’ calendars and identifies exactly the time slot which is most suitable for all.
TeamCalendar is based on Microsoft’s Outlook platform and works in a similar way to booking meetings on a PC but is optimised for wireless communications. The mobile device automatically synchronises with Microsoft Exchange servers via Outlook Web Access to ensure that calendar information is always up to date.
Microsoft is supportive of the product since it enhances the calendaring functionality of Pocket Outlook. Jason Langridge, UK Business Mobility Manager from Microsoft states: “TeamCalendar is a must-have application for busy knowledge workers. With an increasing number of enterprises and hosted service providers now migrating to Exchange 2007 it is important for TeamCalendar to support the most current enterprise e-mail platform.”
More effective planning, less stress
TeamCalendar is ideal for senior executives, team leaders, office managers and PA’s who need to see what colleagues are doing or manage their boss’s time in and out of office hours. The Danish Ministry of Social Affairs is a good example of how smart meeting software can lead to better planning and calendar management:
“With TeamCalendar the PA always know where their bosses are and what appointments she/he has. The solution gives them an overview of their bosses diary on their Smartphone, even when they are abroad. It is an easy tool that makes everyday work more effective,” says Tim Carter, , VP Products Division for HandStep.
“Today mobility and flexibility are critical to a company’s success, and knowledge workers at all levels have a need for more than just e-mail on a PDA or Smartphone,” says Tim Carter. “Anyone who works away from the office in highly collaborative environments will benefit from improved visibility and easier meeting planning.”
Availability
TeamCalendar can be installed on any Windows Mobile 5 or 6 device and is compatible with Microsoft Exchange 2003 and 2007. TeamCalendar 2.0 will be released on May 8th and is available as a HandStep hosted service for EUR 39 per user per year or as an enterprise solution.
