Book group meetings instantly on your Pocket PC with TeamCalendar

HandStep, the mobile solutions expert, is proud to introduce an intelligent software that allows you to plan, book and confirm meetings from PDA's and SmartPhones. In addition, HandStep expects this application to be one of their many standardized solutions that will be available for mobile devices in the near future.

Smartphone and Pocket PC users throughout the world can now bring their "virtual secretary" along while they are on the move. HandStep is launching an intuitive program that enables mobile co-workers to schedule meetings on the spot via their PDA or SmartPhone. The product, aptly named TeamCalendar, is based on Microsoft's Outlook-platform and functions the same way as a traditional PC meeting scheduler. The program is compatible with all Windows-based mobile devices.

One special advantage of the system is the SmartPlanning function that compares various co-workers' calendars and finds the precise time that is convenient for all. The meeting planner sees a display of the available time slots on-screen and can choose the optimal times. In this way, SmartPlanning resolves any possible scheduling conflicts.

Team Calendar: Familiar to PC Users

The planning system is intuitive and user-friendly because it is identical to the well-known user interfaces utilized in the PC calendar and meeting planning functions. TeamCalendar synchronizes automatically with the Microsoft Exchange server so that the calendar data is always updated. TeamCalendar can be installed on all the company's pocket PCs in mere seconds, making it easier for the administrator as well. When connecting via Web Access, the only requirements are an internet connection, a login and password.

"The planning system is the first step in the development of a more interactive use of pocket-PCs, which opens the door for PDA solutions to be standardized and used in the same way as the PC," says Brian Nielsson, founder of HandStep. "In addition, the solutions will be easier to market to the international marketplace, as they can be sold over the internet."

Security First

Security is always a central focus of HandStep. As a result no sensitive data is stored on any third party gateway. Instead, this type of information is restricted to client's own servers and handheld computers. .

"All communication between the company's server and the handheld computer is, of course, encrypted," says Brian Nielsson.

TeamCalendar can be used by every PDA or Windows Mobile SmartPhone as well as with Microsoft Exchange server 2003 SP2 or newer.
