Leading Danish Mobile Software Company Arrives to help UK workers become truly mobile!

Nordic success story brings knowledge and experience to the UK

London, September 26th 2007. Danish mobility expert HandStep launches its first international subsidiary in the UK today after enjoying tremendous success in its home market. The UK subsidiary will offer customised mobile solutions and mobile infrastructure software to large UK companies as well as standardised solutions for SMBs.

HandStep, which specialises in custom mobile solutions for companies and government bodies, reports 600 percent growth over the past four years and has doubled in size and personnel in the last year alone. With strong business partners, such as Microsoft, selecting the UK as its first international destination is a natural choice:

"I am confident that HandStep will succeed in the UK market, which is largely dominated by heavyweight players with relatively long design and implementation time. At the other end of the spectrum we see niche companies that have a narrow focus. HandStep's business model with a broad focus, short time-to-market, experience and customer references fits perfectly in between," says HandStep founder Brian Nielsson.

HandStep's business model means that although mobile solutions are largely customised, they are based on the same service-oriented architecture (SOA). Since HandStep build solutions using this standard mobile framework for all customers, the design of user-interfaces and integration with companies' existing ERP-systems becomes faster and simpler.

HandStep has experienced solid success with both public and private organisations in Denmark. Recently HandStep and the national postal service in Denmark, Post Danmark, have enabled 13,000 postal workers to be mobile in their day-to-day work. With a HandStep solution, Arriva Trains have implemented mobile solutions for 550 workers in Denmark and Sweden; a project which may expand to the UK. Additionally, HandStep is planning to use its experience with integrating mobile sales solutions for SAP ERP-systems.

"We have developed several solutions integrating with SAP platforms for our clients at Royal Unibrew, ISS and confectionery group Toms. This is a relatively unexplored area in the UK, and we believe we stand a good chance ahead of our competition," says HandStep's founder, Brian Nielsson.

Brian will lead the UK operation from offices in Henley together with an experienced team of enterprise mobility professionals. The company launches with a mobility seminar in London today, demonstrating the future for mobile solutions, with Microsoft presenting the enterprise mobile landscape.
